Privacy Policy
The short version: What you write in WishPost — your habits, wishes and notes — stays on your device, or in your own private iCloud if you turn on sync. We can’t see it. To improve the app, WishPost sends anonymous usage statistics (for example, “a habit was registered” or “the paywall was opened”), never what you wrote, and you can turn this off in Settings. There’s no account, no ads and no tracking across other apps.
This policy explains how the WishPost app for iPhone and iPad (“WishPost”, “the app”) and this website handle information. WishPost is made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”).
What you create in the app
When you use WishPost you create things like your sender name, habits, check-ins, wishes, redeemed wishes, your points passbook and your app settings (for example, which app icon you chose).
- All of this is stored on your device, inside the app.
- None of this content is ever sent to us. We can’t see your habit names, wishes, notes or sender name.
- The Home Screen widget reads a small snapshot of your current wish (title and progress). That snapshot is shared between the app and the widget on your device only.
- If you share your progress postcard, it goes only where you choose to send it through the iOS share sheet.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which features people use and where the app can be better, WishPost sends anonymous usage events to a small service we run ourselves on Cloudflare.
What an event contains
- What happened, such as “app opened”, “wish written”, “habit registered”, “checked in”, “wish redeemed”, “paywall opened”, “purchase completed” or “tab switched”.
- A few numbers or fixed options that describe it, such as the stamp value of a wish, a habit’s frequency and points, or which tab was opened.
- Basic technical information: app version, iOS version, device model (for example “iPhone16,1”) and the app’s language.
- A random identifier created on your device when the app is installed, so we can count how many people use a feature and how often. It isn’t your Apple Account, it isn’t the advertising identifier, and it can’t be used to find out who you are.
What an event never contains
- Anything you write: habit names, wish titles or stories, notes, your sender name.
- Your name, email address, Apple Account, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Your IP address — our service doesn’t store it, and we don’t derive your location from it.
How it’s used: only to see how the app is used, in aggregate, so we can fix problems and improve it. It is never sold, never used for advertising and never combined with data from other companies. Events are kept for up to about three months.
Turning it off: open WishPost › Settings and switch off Help Improve WishPost. Events that haven’t been sent yet are deleted from your device, the random identifier is discarded, and nothing more is sent. If you turn it back on later, a new identifier is created that isn’t connected to the old one.
iCloud sync (Lifetime stamp, optional)
If you buy the Lifetime stamp, you can sync your data across your devices with iCloud.
- Sync uses Apple’s CloudKit and stores your data in the private database of your own iCloud account. It is protected by your Apple Account, and we as the developer cannot access it.
- Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- You can turn sync off at any time in WishPost › Settings. Your data then stays only on that device.
- To delete synced data from iCloud: open the iOS Settings app › your name › iCloud › Storage (or Manage Account Storage) › WishPost, then delete its data.
Purchases
The Lifetime stamp is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email address, Apple Account or payment details. The app only asks Apple’s StoreKit, on your device, whether the purchase is active, so it can unlock the features you paid for.
Permissions
- Add to Photos: asked only when you save a progress postcard as an image. This is add‑only access: WishPost can save the image but cannot see or read your photo library.
- WishPost does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, health data or advertising identifier, and it doesn’t ask to track you across other apps and websites.
What we don’t do
- No account or login.
- No third‑party analytics, crash‑reporting or advertising SDKs. Usage statistics go only to our own service described above.
- No tracking across other apps and websites, no profiling and no advertising.
- We don’t sell or share personal information.
Information Apple may share with us
If you’ve chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymized statistics and crash reports (for example, how many devices installed the app, or where it crashed). This information doesn’t identify you, and we use it only to fix bugs and improve the app.
If you contact us
If you email us, we’ll receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you, and we’ll delete the conversation if you ask.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or third‑party scripts, and its fonts are served from the site itself. It’s hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, as described in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Children
WishPost is suitable for a general audience. It doesn’t ask anyone, including children, for personal information, and its usage statistics are anonymous.
Your choices and rights
Your habits and wishes stay on your device and in your own iCloud, so you are in full control of them:
- Stop usage statistics: switch off Help Improve WishPost in Settings.
- Delete everything on a device: delete the WishPost app. This removes its data, including the random identifier, from that device.
- Delete synced data: follow the iCloud steps above.
- Backups: like other apps, WishPost’s data is included in your device’s own iCloud or computer backups, which you manage in iOS.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Because usage statistics aren’t tied to your identity, we usually can’t pick out which events came from you — but you’re always welcome to contact us, and turning statistics off stops any further collection immediately.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
